Snorkeling at La Jolla Cove

As Bryant lay waiting in the emergency room for the second broken arm of the year, Bishop Chase came to help in any way he could. One of the things he said to Bryant was that once the cast was off, we would plan a snorkeling trip. It was a great offer and gave Bryant something to look forward to. It took us some time to find a day that would work for both families, but we finally decided on Labor Day since Rick and Bishop Chase were both off of work. A few trips to the sporting goods store and we were good to go!

We had an amazing time at the cove! The weather was PERFECT, the water was warm, there were TONS of colorful fish, and the company was great! We have been sold on snorkeling in La Jolla and can't wait to plan another trip!

Here are some highlights from the day:

Parker was NOT feeling it at first. He just couldn't figure out how to breath through the snorkel without water coming in.....he doesn't look very happy.

He spent lots of time trying to adjust his fins.

He tried getting used to the snorkel by only putting his head in the water.

Parker stopped snorkeling for awhile, but decided to give it one more try when I let him use my snorkel - SUCCESS! He now loves to snorkel!

Bryant was a pro. He grabbed his gear, put it on without any instructions, and heading out to the water. I barely saw him all morning.

He hates having his picture taken........this one's for you, Bryant!

Bryant lost his first set of flippers in the seaweed, so he used mine the rest of the trip.

Erin hadn't been feeling good for the past couple of days, so I was worried that she wouldn't enjoy the trip. I was wrong.........she disappeared just like Bryant, and had a great time! Erin wouldn't let me take any pictures of her, either.

Rick was fairly pessimistic about snorkeling in So. Cal., but he ended up liking it the most out of all of us. He stayed out in the water for 2 whole hours!
