This week marked the beginning of Parker reaching his goal of playing baseball on the high school team. He has driven by the field for years and watched many games in anticipation of the day that he would be playing on that very field.
The freshmen baseball camp started this week and the practices are held on the varsity field. Lots of aspiring Puma players are vying for spots on the team. Parker takes the opportunity very seriously and it's fun to hear him analyze how he's done each day.
Today was their first inter-squad scrimmage. Parker somehow got tasked with leading his team, which was neat to watch. He pitched the first inning and did great! It was his very first time pitching from 60 feet and you wouldn't have know it. He was pretty proud of his pitching - especially since the varsity coach had been watching. Hopefully all his hard work will pay off and he'll be on the team this year - only time will tell.
