Our family took a quick trip to Utah at the end of Christmas break. Erin needed to get back to BYU and Bryant needed his wisdom teeth removed (we love the place in Provo where Erin had hers removed). We left early Thursday morning and returned Sunday afternoon with tons of activities crammed in between.
Right after we got to Provo, we stopped by Erin's apartment and then headed to get our favorite hot dog at J Dawgs.
We ran some errands to get Erin a few things for her apartment, dropped her off, and then took the boys bowling at BYU. I won the first game (only because everyone else was struggling) and got killed in the second game which Parker owned.
Friday morning, Rick and Bryant put together a shelf for Erin to use as extra storage.
We decided to do something fun with the last couple hours before Bryant's surgery so we took the kids to Nickel City for the arcade games.
When we were out of time, I dropped Rick, Erin, and Parker off for some lunch and shopping while I took Bryant to get his wisdom teeth out. He hates needles, but really took it well.
It was as good an experience as I could hope for given the circumstances. We were in the office a total of 45 minutes. It took less than 15 minutes for them to remove his teeth.
Immediately after surgery, we went to get Bryant a shake (he had to fast all day). He pretty much lived on shakes and mashed potatoes the whole time we were in Utah.
After eating his shake and getting his medication, we took Bryant back to recover at our friends' house. He stayed in bed the rest of the time we were in Utah, continually changing his ice packs, taking medication every 3 hours, and watching bowl and playoff games. The hardest part for him was wanting REAL food. Parker decided to skip the fun recovery time by pretending to be a college student with Erin and her friends. He stayed in one of the guy apartments and one of them even asked if he was the new roommate.
On Saturday, Bryant stayed in bed with us checking in on him throughout the day. Rick and I had an early lunch with our good friends before meeting up with Erin, Parker, and Curtis (he served in our ward as a missionary). We bowled some more, ate at our FAVORITE sandwich place, The Italian Place, went to a BYU basketball game, and finished the evening with a trip to The Malt Shop.

Sunday we got up really early to beat the crazy Vegas traffic. We were not sad to leave the freezing temperatures behind (it was 75 at our house when we pulled into the driveway).
***Bryant was totally fine and off his prescription pain medicine by Monday morning. He didn't even miss a day of school.
