After 7 years as a Boy Scout, Bryant finally achieved the rank of Eagle Scout tonight! It took a year and a half after completing his Eagle Project to wrap up the last 3 merit badges, complete the Eagle Scout Application, and have his Eagle Scout Board of Review. He even got all that done with 4 weeks to spare (nothing like cutting it close!). We are so proud of him and are grateful for the scouting program. We know that the knowledge and skills he gained through his Boy Scout experience has made him a better person.
Here's how the night went down:
Ron, one of his Boy Scout leaders, presented Bryant to the Board and then joined Rick and I outside. Bryant was asked questions related to the Boy Scout program, his Eagle Project, and his outside activities. He was interviewed for about 30 minutes.
After the interview, Bryant came out to get us. When we went inside the room, they asked Bryant another question that started with "Now that you're an Eagle Scout....", wooohooo!! They congratulated Bryant and us as parents and said that they were very impressed with him. What a great parenting moment that was! Then it was picture time.....
