Halloween Fun

Our Halloween was pretty tame. With it being on a Sunday, we decided there wouldn't be any trick or treating. We were also going to be missing our Ward Trunk or Treat because of Parker's baseball game. We didn't fully decorate and no one got any costumes ready - we just figured the holiday would slip by. The week of Halloween ended up being completely different for us.

We started off by going to carve our pumpkins at the Chase's. We tried new techniques and learned how to really light a pumpkin.
I carved out the BYU "Y" logo. We bleed blue in our family!

The pumpkin inferno. It burned for a LONG time. We asked Erin and Parker if they wanted to light one of ours but they decided they wanted to wait for Halloween.

Parker carved out Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas - not a bad carving job!

Erin chose to carve a cat into her white pumpkin.

On Saturday it rained all morning, causing the league to close Parker's baseball field. We were then free to attend the trunk or treat. The only problem was figuring out costumes at the last minute. Erin ended up finding a ladybug costume on clearance for $5 at the mall and the boys scrounged for their costumes in our dress up box at home.

She made a pretty cute ladybug!

Parker wore the cow hat I made YEARS ago at a homemaking meeting.

Bryant threw on a wig, sunglasses, his "wife beater" tank top, and his jacket. I'm not sure what he was, but he thought it was cool.

On Halloween, we had our traditional chili and cornbread dinner with our friends, the Muirs and Dee, and the kids handed out candy to the trick or treaters.
