Graduation Day

Erin has been waiting for this day for YEARS. She has spent countless hours studying and was honored by graduating Summa Cum Laude. We are so proud of Erin and all the hard work and dedication she puts into her school work.

We took some pictures in the backyard before heading to the school for the graduation ceremony.

Knowing that it would be difficult to get good seats, we arrived at the high school half and hour before they opened the gates to find that lots of people had the same idea. Fortunately we were able to get a spot a few rows up in the bleachers directly across from where Erin would be sitting. We were also able to see Bryant and the band from our seats.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Erin and the choir sang The National Anthem and then You Raise Me Up. It was definitely emotional to hear them sing for the last time.

After singing, Erin gave her best choir friend, Ashlee, a hug before heading back to her seat.

All the Platinum Circle graduates (those with over a 4.0 GPA) were asked to stand and be recognized. They also wore a white tassel along with their green and blue one.

All the students had to line up to wait their turn to receive their diplomas. While waiting, a family let off a LOT of large confetti when their senior graduated. This was Erin's reaction - maybe we should have thought of that!

Erin finally receives her diploma (or at least the cover, they didn't give them the real thing until the next morning).

We failed to arrange a meeting place after the ceremony, so we had to wait until Erin found us. It left us almost by ourselves in the bleachers while the masses crowded the football field (better picture taking for us).

This was the smile on Erin's face the whole night - she was SO happy!

It was a bittersweet moment for us, though.

After lots of hugs, it was time for more pictures.

To wrap up the evening, we met our friends, the Snell family, at Sweet Lumpy's for a yummy celebration dinner. It was a perfect ending to a great day!

Thank you to our friends and family who were able to celebrate this occasion with us. Especially Grandma and Grandpa LeFevre for coming from Washington. We are grateful to have such supportive family and friends.
