Parker has almost finished all the requirements he needs in Boy Scouts to receive his First Class advancement. One of the only things left was a 5 mile hike using a map and compass. In talking with his Scout Master, he said that Parker knew enough to use a compass and then suggested that we could hike with our family to fulfill the requirement before his next board of review. So bright and early Saturday morning, we loaded up and drove to the Santa Rosa Plateau where we mapped out the perfect hike. Parker had his map handy at all times as he led us on our hike. Despite the warm weather, we had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful plateau.
This water spigot was 1 1/2 feet away from the tree trunk just 17 years ago. It's amazing how the tree just grew around it.
