Student of the Month

Each month Parker's school holds an awards assembly where the students are recognized for something special. This month Parker was chosen and received his award for "His eagerness to gain new knowledge and discover new concepts!". I think this a perfect description of Parker. I don't know many kids who prefer to read nonfiction books like the Encyclopedia of Nature. The other night we were watching t.v. and flipping between a few channels, one of which was the Nature Channel, which Parker kept begging us to go back to. With all the kids shows on t.v., I'm grateful for a child who would rather watch something that stimulates his brain. (Maybe that's why he got a perfect report card earlier that day!)

On a side note: Hopefully this is the messiest we will ever see Parker's hair! It got cut first thing Monday morning, much to Rick's delight.
