Bryant had to leave his game during the last quarter to rush to his very first game as a referee. He has been waiting for a few years to finally be old enough to get to be a referee. In August, he attended a 2 day clinic to get certified as an official referee. He also had to purchase the uniform and gear. Bryant decided that he wanted to start off as an assistant referee because he was nervous to be the center referee. The assistants are on either sideline calling when the players are offsides and when the ball goes out of bounds. Oh......the power of waving a flag!
Signaling for a corner kick
At half time the center referee somehow convinced Bryant to switch with her, so he set his nerves aside and took over. I think he gets a kick out of the power of the whistle!
The center referee is also in charge of keeping the official score card.
At the end of the day, Bryant has $40 more in his mission fund! We are so proud of Bryant for all the hard work and dedication he puts in to everything he does!
