When we decided to camp in Zion National Park, I knew it would be beautiful there, but didn't realize how great the view would be from our campsite - not bad!
When I was planning our camping menu, Erin wanted to have grilled cheese sandwiches. So as we finished setting up our campsite, Erin made us lunch. It's nice to have children old enough to share the work!

Parker insisted on bring Sonic with us and he read to him for many hours during the trip. He's trying to read all the Harry Potter books this summer.

Bryant crashed in the tent after getting it set up.
The only downside of our camping trip was the heat (which actually could have been much worse) and the wind at night - it blew so hard and kept waking us up. I have a feeling we'll be returning again within the next few years.

Parker spending more of his spare time reading to Sonic.

A family picture before heading out to hike to the Emerald Pools.

On Monday night all the kids went to the river and came back with a lot of frogs. Parker named his and then let it out in the creek next to our campsite.

As the kids were relocating their frogs, the rain hit. It was a welcome rain because it had been such a hot day!

Chris and Rick manned the dutch ovens for our 40-mile stew dinner.

The rain came down fairly hard, so the men had to use a pretty umbrella to check on the food.
